Improve Patient Care and Quality for Dialysis Patients in California
Receiving dialysis treatment at least three times a week is critical for the survival of the 70,000 patients in California with End-Stage Renal Disease, or kidney failure.
Fortunately, there was a bill filed in 2019 that would improve patient care and quality for dialysis patients in California. Assembly Bill 1448 (Gray) would improve quality standards at certain dialysis facilities by requiring state health inspections for facilities that receive a low-quality rating. AB 1448 ensures dialysis facilities are meeting high quality standards and improves the overall treatment experience for dialysis patients. This legislation is still pending with the Assembly Health Committee.
